Tangerine

TANGERINE, 2025, videoinštalácia, 04:10 min
Vizuálne introspektívne videá, kde sa čas ohýba a realita fragmentuje. Autorka pracuje s témou vnímania reality a jej rôznych vrstiev. Skúma cyklickosť prírody, a jej rôzne fázy a stavy bytia. Surrealistické obrazy sa stávajú mostom medzi vnútorným prežívaním a vonkajším svetom. Kontrast medzi organickými formami a umelými farbami naznačuje napätie medzi prírodným a digitálnym svetom. Práca problematizuje lineárne a jednoznačné vnímanie sveta, čím reflektuje subjektívne zážitky alebo duševné prežívanie. Cieľom je sprostredkovať vizuálnu meditáciu – pokoj v chaose, ticho v pohybe.

The author works with the theme of perception of reality and its different layers. She explores the cyclical nature, and its different phases and states of being. Surrealistic images become a bridge between inner experience and the external world. The contrast between organic forms and artificial colours suggests the tension between the natural and digital worlds. The work problematizes a linear and unambiguous perception of the world, thus reflecting subjective experiences or mental survival. The aim is to convey a visual meditation – calm in chaos, stillness in movement.
“You are looking into a structure that keeps repeating itself, but always with subtly different parameters. I worked with a colour palette that is heavily influenced by digital aesthetics – something that subconsciously shapes me. Nature plays a big role in my work – I spend a lot of time in it, it’s also my place to relax, think and be still. That’s why landscapes, time-pieces appear in the images – as a reflection of time, which is constantly changing and cannot be grasped.”
The structure of the installation – a quadruple layout of tablets – is not just an aesthetic decision, but symbolizes the supposed four dimensions: length, width, height and time. At the same time, it reflects the way we perceive the world today – through fragmented images on screens, where each depicts a different reality, but all belong to one system
” …between reality and fiction, between memory and imagination, between digital effect and personal experience. I believe that reality is not fixed but layered, and that art allows us to see into layers that we don’t normally see, only suspect.”
