Práca sa zaoberá problematikou neustáleho tlaku spoločnosti na ženy v zmysle sociálnych sietí – stále nových algoritmicky meniace sa ideály krásy (trendy, mikrotrendy, estetiky) vedúce k nutnosti byť za každých podmienok neustále dokonalá a upravená.
Nechty v tomto projekte sú teda zámerne neupravované a priznávajú svoju štruktúru – materiálnu cudzosť, neprirodenosť, neznámosť. Videoprojekcia, v ktorej autorka performuje zo zámerne dlhými nechtami, pozýva alebo odstrašuje diváka a následne si z nich tvorí akúsi “nechtovú-telovú obranu” pred vonkajším svetom je dosadená do tvaru jazierka či otvoru v zemi, z ktorého “vyrastajú nechty” čím vzniká určitá neurčitosť, kuriozita v danom priestore.
Dielo je o dovoľovaní si: mať neprirodzene prehnane dlhé nechty, ktoré sú neupravené, nedokončené, škaredé, nepoužiteľné, únavné, zbytočné… Autorka sa tak vedome rozhoduje porušiť algoritmické “prikázania – Desatoro” a pritom ironicky hľadá validáciu v otázke: “Sú moje nechty dostatočne dlhé?”

The artwork addresses the issue of constant societal pressure on women driven by social media – specifically, the ever-changing algorithmic beauty ideals (trends, micro-trends, aesthetics) that demand perfection and meticulous grooming at all times and under any circumstances.
In this project, the fingernails are intentionally left un-groomed, revealing their own structure – a material foreignness, unnaturalness, and unfamiliarity.
The video projection, in which the artist performs with deliberately long nails, simultaneously invites and deters the viewer. She subsequently uses them to build a sort of “nail-body defense” against the outside world. The projection is placed into the shape of a small pond or an opening in the ground, from which the “nails grow,” creating a sense of indeterminacy and curiosity within the space.
The work is about giving oneself permission: permission to have unnaturally, excessively long nails that are un-groomed, unfinished, ugly, unusable, exhausting, and pointless… The artist thus makes a conscious decision to violate the algorithmic “commandments – the Decalogue,” while ironically seeking validation in the question: “Are my nails long enough?”
